Barley Saturday in Cardigan Bay
Barley Saturday is a celebration of horses in Welsh farming. It has been held in the coastal town of Cardigan/Aberteifion on the last Saturday in April - the end of the sowing season - since the 19th century. People line the main street to see Welsh ponies, Welsh cobs, sport horses, stallions, palominos, heavy horses, Shetland ponies and donkeys walk a circuit that passes Cardigan Castle and the harbour, then take a second turn at full gallop.
